Jumpy Kids

Mala loves her child so much. She wants to see him happy all the time but she is in serious trouble these days. Her child Anuj doesn't listen to her unless she give mobile phone in his hands! Anuj surfs gaming while eating, demands to see videos after doing his homework and doesn't even want to step out of the house on holidays because of it. He also has learnt many ill mannered activities.
As soon as she grabs the mobile phone from Anuj's hand he starts crying terribly!
Are you noticing the same thing for your child or any other child around?
Survey says nearly 87 percent of children of age group 3 years -7 years belonging to a resourced family in India are mobile addicted. This data is actually a matter of concern! Looking into the screen while Sitting for hours may cause health hazards in the growing kids. It is impacting the kids not only in their physical development but also harming their mental health. Children are becoming jumpy, stubborn and unprincipled. And finding them short tempered makes parents act rudely in order to suppress them.
Both parenting as well as development are being improperly nurtured which is a serious concern for the world!
In this era of rush and hustle, nobody has time to look at themselves and parenting is considered to be a difficult task! But let's ponder, is it really that hard or are we doing it just to be at ease? Making a family is an important part of life and we are wholly responsible to take care of it! When a child is born it knows nothing and the way its parents treat it grows! We consider that nurturing kids in the early months of birth is the most important part but paying attention comes into play when they cross the age of 2 years actually! Now they need both food for nourishment and response for development of voice, sound, actions, body and thoughts! They ask numerous questions, need loving touch, attention and observation.
In older days kids used to cry when they got detached from their mothers but now it is for their favourite gadget! It is happening because of the attachment. People pay attention to the kid's questions or demands initially but after sometime they start getting bored or are too busy to answer them! They feel providing them things to play with and frequent roaming is enough. Which actually isn't! The whole day engagement leads kids to get attached with stuff around say electronics gadgets like toys or mobile phones. Lack of emotional support and more of technical touch is making them rigid emotionally and completely unaware of ways of expressing themselves! This is the root cause of irritability in children.
Coming to the aspect, what can be done to reduce it? Honestly, only adapting 3 manners are enough!
First, Start putting yourself in the place of a kid. How would you feel being untouched by your loved ones? Give them time before going to work and of course after coming. They feel the same as you. Let them stay attached to you! Your attention will make them sensible, mannered and loved! Be their superhero/ superwoman!
Second, instead of gadgets try to make them engaged with creative things like art, craft, colors, books, puzzles, stories etc.
Let them watch animated cartoons for an hour on the bet of roaming with them in the park! Taking them to dance classes is also a good option.
Third, Offer them the company of society from initial growing days.
Allow them to be with their grandparents or neighbours. They will learn the culture, lessons and rules of life. If it isn't possible Put them in a paid play day care!
And done..
Now your kids will easily be able to replicate the image you want them to be!
Love parenting!
