THE REAL YOUTH ICON

There is a popular saying "Usually people adjust themselves according to the environment but time gives birth to some legends that change the environment and make it according to them!"
"Utho Jaago aur Lakshya ki prapti tak ruko mat!" 
These words are from the mouth of a legendary personality, a philosopher, a thinker, a poet and a true son of mother India; Swami Vivekananda. He was a master of excellence since childhood and an icon of evolution in youth of India during the war of independence. 
Swami himself personified the eternal energy of the youth and a restless quest for truth. To be true, he and his motive of living life are still worshiped everywhere in the world. He was and will be a hero. To commemorate his work and sacrifices, we celebrate his birthday as National Youth Day every year on 12th January. 
The Government of India marked 12th January as National Youth Day to celebrate this great man and his achievements in 1985 for the first time and since then it is celebrated everywhere around the nation mostly in schools and colleges. Today, almost 50 percent of Indians are under the age of 25. The future of the country are on their shoulders — making celebrations that empower young people so important. Across the nation, there is a general way to celebrate. Authorities organize speech competitions, debates, yoga asanas, music and many more activities to raise the awareness & knowledge among youth minds.
The thoughts of Swami Vivekananda were truly devoted to Indian history, Vedas, culture & heritage. He was dedicated to his teacher "guru"  Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He was truly devotional, educated, focused and highly influential. His policies and practices are appreciated in entire world. In modern India numerous schools and math centers are running on his name. They practice Mangal Arati, Sandhya Arati, Devotional Songs, Meditation & a special worship.
Numerous youth organizations, study circles and services provided by the youth are inspired by his lectures and writings. Yes, in the era of finding influencers on social media handles, OTT platforms and films these school prepare kids to be their own hero. One one hand where youngsters are dealing with depression, existence crisis and mellow drama, followers of these practices are reaching sanity and extra ordinary limits of strength. We need to realise the difference between fun and fulfillness.
